Here at Edible Prairie Project we dream big. Here is a quick snapshot of our future goals and programs!
Edible Prairie weeknight farmers market
We have plans to open a weeknight, producer’s only, farmers market in Gillette, WY that will operate mid-July through mid-October beginning in 2020. Our market will not only provide a venue for local farmers, ranchers, food makers, and artisans to sell their wares, but will also host fun (and free) community events, like cooking demos and food themed kids’ activities! We will also accept SNAP EBT, and will offer incentives to SNAP, WIC, senior (age 60+), and military veteran shoppers.
Edible Prairie Project center and retail store
Imagine vegetable and herb gardens, a fruit orchard, composting stations, a chicken run, outdoor classrooms, and a farmer tool share. Inside there’s commercial kitchen space, classrooms hosting farmer and rancher skill shares, a food hub, and yes, our very own storefront, where you can find local products available for sale via a tiered pricing model!
