In November and December, we provided 20 local families receiving SNAP and/or WIC benefits with our bonus Protein from the Prairie basket featuring: farm-fresh eggs, beef, pork, bison, yak, and winter squash, carrots, sweet potatoes, and cabbage all grown by EPP.
These winter baskets were made possible through the Forward Contract Pilot Grant Program, part of a statewide project funded by the American Rescue Plan Act, to improve food access across Wyoming. Thanks to this program, families received $3,102.43 in locally raised meat and $685.71 in fresh produce, all grown or raised right here in our region.

"Getting the extra meat from local ranches has provided healthy meals instead of having meals full of starch. I tried the different recipes provided too. The veggie basket being so bountiful, I was able to freeze some for use during winter. I can't express my gratitude enough for this program."

"I am especially encouraged each time we hear about the protein baskets. In fact, it’s the only meat we eat, because I know they are all locally produced and processed. My favorite is the bison, and I know I would never get it if it didn’t come in your baskets. The fresh eggs are always a bonus and only through you do we get these. We are happy knowing everything is local."
